SWIMMING POOL COMMUNITY STANDARDS
 
Safety
 
  • Safety is always the primary concern of the Swimming Pool Staff.  To insure everyone’s safety, activities judged unsafe by the lifeguards will not be permitted. Repeated misconduct may result in the individual or group being dismissed from the Pool area for the comfort and safety of other members.
 
  •  No swimming is permitted except during scheduled hours
 
  • Children under ten (10) years of age must be constantly supervised by a responsible Club member or a Club member’s child who is sixteen (16) years of age or older. Likewise, children who cannot swim and those children using the Zero Entry pool must be continually under the supervision of a responsible Club member or a Club member’s child who is sixteen (16) years of age or older. Children under the age of ten (10) may NOT be left unattended at the pool at any time.
 
  • The diving well, diving board, and double slide will be used only by those who are judged by the lifeguards as having sufficient skills to perform a safe dive or jump.  Swimmers who cannot swim across the deep end are not allowed to use the diving board, double slide, or swim in the deep end. Activities judged unsafe in the area of the diving board will not be permitted. No swim wings are permitted in the deep end of the pool or on the slide.
 
  • Only one person per slide at a time shall be permitted
 
  • One person at a time on the diving board and one spring/bounce per person
 
  • Children who are not competent swimmers, or who are less than 48” tall must undergo a swim proficiency test administered by the lifeguards. The child will be awarded a wrist band upon passing the test. The wrist band must be worn at all times while in the pool.
 
Guests
 
  • Any person entering the pool facility who is not a member is considered to be a guest and must be accompanied by a member.
 
 
  • All guests of a Club member are permitted and all must register at the front gate before entering the Pool area.  Individual Guests are limited to a maximum of five visits to the pool per year.
 
Guest Fees are as follows:
  • 5 and under                         Complimentary
  • 6-10 years of age                $10.00
  • 11 years of age and older  $15.00
 
  • Special fees for out of town family members and houseguests in town for longer than 5 consecutive days can be approved by the Clubhouse Manager.
 
  • Club members, who are also grandparents may bring grandchildren 18 years of age or younger as guests to the pool with no guest fee. The grandparent Club member must accompany the grandchild guest. 
 
  • Babysitters and nanny’s will be permitted to accompany member children as an extension of the parent membership and will not be charged a guest fee, but have no pool privileges without a member child present. The babysitter/nanny must be at least 16 years of age and must register with the club [email protected]
 
  • Any guest child under the age of 16 is required to be with an adult member of the club to enter the pool
 
  • The Country Club of Spartanburg does not have any reciprocal pool/fitness center agreements.
 
Pool Parties
 
  • Swimming parties using the Pool facilities should be arranged with the club’s Special Events Director Kortney Kienzle [email protected] For a party greater than ten, at least one adult in addition to the host must be present to supervise the activities of the group.  Additional lifeguards may be required at the expense of the host. The host member will be responsible for seeing that all guests leave the Pool when the party is ended. The Pool will be open to all Club members and their guests during the party. 
 
  • Pool parties must order a food and beverage package through the Club and non-members will be charged $15.00 per person Guest fee. Pool parties shall be exempt from the Member limit on number of Guests and will not count towards the maximum limit of Guest visits per year.
 
Policies
 
  • The cleanliness of the Pool area is everyone’s responsibility.  Trashcans are provided for your use.  No glass is allowed in the Pool areas.
                                   
  • Members and Guests are not allowed to bring outside food or beverages onto the premises.
 
  • All Members and Guests shall be responsible for cleaning up after themselves, including throwing away cups and food containers in the proper trash receptacles once they are finished using them and relocating any furniture back to its original location
 
  • Please be considerate of other members and be sure that children wear proper swim diapers in the Pool. Swim diapers will be available for purchase at the Pool CafĂ©.
 
  • All persons that are not bathroom independent trained shall be required to wear an approved swim diaper and to swim only in the lower pool.  It is the Member’s responsibility to comply with this rule for his/her children as well as those of his/her Guests.  The consequence of accidents is that the pool must be closed for a period of several hours after incident discovery and necessary cleanup.
 
  • Ten minutes to every hour will be considered “adult swim” and all children below the age of eighteen (18) must exit all water areas.
 
  • Holding spots on the Pool Deck for persons who are arriving later in the day is not permissible.
 
  • State Board of Health Rules are posted and all members and their guests are expected to read and comply with these rules.
 
  • Upstate Pool Management will be handling the scheduling of all Swim Lessons.  Schedule your lessons by calling:
  • 864) 688-1143.Private lessons will be taught by qualified instructors of the Swimming Pool Staff.
 
Towels
 
  •  The Club will provide one towel per person per day.  Used towels may be exchanged at the front desk for fresh towels at any time. 
 
  • Members are responsible for the return of all towels issued to them, their children, their babysitter and their Guests.  Towels are to be returned to the appropriate bins.
 
  • There will be a charge of $15.00 for un-returned pool towels.
